You have a strong desire to “explain yourself” and a feeling that your self worth hangs on your ability to convince others that you are right! But the more you talk, the less you feel understood. The other side either isn’t interested, isn’t paying attention or thinks you are wrong. Sir Walter Raleigh said, “A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still.” Save your breath. As you back off, external forces will explain your position in an irrefutable way. Relax, go for a walk, daydream.
