Self-absorption Leads to Unhappiness

Self-absorption Leads to Unhappiness

An excerpt from a teaching called How to Pray by Being by Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo

The Buddhist path is not a selfish trip. It’s not a self-absorbed trip. In fact, as Buddhist practitioners, we strive to become less and less self-absorbed. Being self-absorbed is the exact opposite of prayer–180 degrees away from it. But […]

Astrology for 7/4/2015

7/4/2015 Saturday by Norma

Although it’s a day filled with emotional intensity, the best bet is using your rational mind to handle what comes. Opposition is rampant and it’s imperative to consider both sides of every activity: doing something for yourself versus something for the group; staying home versus making a public appearance; eating alone […]

Astrology for 7/3/2015

7/3/2015 Friday by Norma

Groups and friends are highlighted today. Someone offers help and a new direction opens in an area that has been stymied. Astrology

A conversation with a man or important friend is excellent.  This person is inspired and sympathetic to what you’re attempting to do.  The support of a group is here.  Speak up!  They like what you have to say.  A push is well received, but it must be accomplished in private. Solitary work, rest, retreat and reflection, all these things move you forward.  Lao Tsu said, “The best way to advance is to retreat.”  The farther inward you pull, the more your goal is drawn to you!  Friends come, and goals are achieved.  Do your work, go home and watch what happens!

The daily astrology post affects everyone. Because individual charts vary, the circumstances outlined in the post will affect people differently. Some will feel this energy in the personal arena, some in finances, some with children or family, some in work and so forth. There are many departments of life. Look to see where the dynamic affects you!
