Theme: Steady accomplishment

As the Sun approaches Saturn it’s not all doom and gloom. Effort produces result and even the accomplishment of the smallest of tasks can feel rewarding. It’s a good time to draw on your experience and work creatively within limitations rather than kicking against them. You’ll only hurt your toes if you do. The Moon in Leo invites you to play and be creative and Jupiter sextile the Sun promotes expansion and growth. Finding an inner balance is possible at this time.

Theme: Softening the edges

The Sun has moved into the water sign of Pisces ushering in a month long cycle that embraces the themes of compassion, spirituality – and illusion and escapism. Self-honesty is the guiding light to steer you away from the more challenging aspect of Pisces, which includes addictions. The conjunction of the Sun and Saturn in Pisces over the next week is particularly difficult as the sign of Pisces focuses us on feelings rather than raw materialism that can be the reality of daily life. Mars conjunct Venus offers a balance in dealing with extremes by inviting us to marry our inner and outer worlds.

Theme: Focus and Generosity

The Sun is in good aspect to the Moon – and the Moon and Sun are in good aspect to Jupiter enabling us to open our hearts and minds. At the same time the Sun is approaching a conjunction with Saturn which necessitates being realistic about what one can achieve and working within limitations, financial or otherwise. The Moon in Cancer means we are more in touch with our feelings but can also mean we are overly sensitive.

Theme: Caught in the middle

The planet governing relationships is sandwiched between Pluto and Mars. You may feel pressured to do things you wouldn’t ordinarily do. If you can engage in diplomacy everyone will be better served. Theme: Trouble shooting

With Mercury square the Moon you have the opportunity to problem solve and think outside the square! Of course you have to be mindful of your speech with such an aspect. You can incline your day towards spiritual pursuits today. Still, with the Moon conjunct Uranus you can also expect unexpected events to change the course of the day. As the Sun moves towards the end of Aquarius take time to enjoy your friendships and community activities.

Theme: Staying the course

The Moon has moved into the solid sign of Taurus conjunct Jupiter replenishing your resources and bringing stabilizing energy. Mars is beginning to pull away from Pluto decreasing the tension created with that conjunction. All the major planets are bunched together in one section of the sky creating a container of planetary energy that increases focus but also invites one to explore what is missing in your life.

Theme: Movement and Challenge

Mars has entered Aquarius where it exactly conjuncts Pluto. Today and the next few days remember to cultivate patience and awareness at a time when deep conflicts can surface. The Moon in Aries increases the likelihood of people going head to head because of the headstrong nature of Aries. Relationships are highlighted with the Venus-Mars conjunction inviting us to acknowledge that relationships only flourish with give and take, not with one side dominating.

Strike against war, for without you no battles can be fought. Strike against manufacturing shrapnel and gas bombs and all other tools of murder. Theme: Checks and Balances

With the challenge of Mars conjunct Pluto bringing raw emotions and habits to the surface it’s good to know that Venus is chasing every closer to Mars and softening the harshness and the fighting that occurs when you, or anyone else, don’t get what they want. Similarly, Jupiter is also in good aspect to Venus and Mars bringing a good bridle to unbridled aggression. The Sun in Aquarius brings a more global vision which is much needed at this time as Pluto begins the task of breaking down old outmoded structures.

Theme: Thinking outside the box

With the Moon conjunct Mercury in Aquarius you can think differently about conundrums and how to re-imagine activities of daily life. The desire for freedom that Aquarius energy draws also creates space for innovation and originality. The support and ideas of your broader community are more accessible to you. The acute aspect of Sun square Uranus is slowly abating also giving you respite from at least one area of pressure.

Many human beings say that they enjoy the winter, but what they really enjoy is feeling proof against it. For them there is no winter food problem. They have fires and warm clothes. The winter cannot hurt them and therefore increases their sense of cleverness and security. For birds and animals, as for poor men, winter is another matter. Theme: The power of love in times of war

With the Moon conjunct Venus today and Mars approaching ever closer to Pluto you are offered different ways to respond to events – with compassion and courage or with hatred and fear. All astrological aspects offer us different ways of responding to difficulties. The Moon-Venus conjunction reminds us that we share beneficial connections with many beings while the Mars-Pluto conjunction reminds us of the never-ending cycle of suffering, especially if we lose our humanity. With the Sun approaching an exact square the pressure is ratcheting up and it’s important to find peaceful outlets for this energy so that it doesn’t rebound. Finding ways to free this energy and let it flow benignly is possible if we pay attention.
