Theme: The Eye of the Hurricane 

There continues to be a lot of difficult energy that can be very frustrating. Small crises come up in the first half of the day. Then our mood improves thanks to the Moon, our emotions, uniting with Jupiter, expansive and generous energy. But we must continue to be very patient and slow in order to achieve our goals. The eye of the hurricane is the spiritual connection between the Sun and Neptune. For the next few days this is both a time to work with a selfless, compassionate motivation, and to pray and meditate. Yes, the Dharma is difficult. Today you can be an effective worker by acknowledging the constraints you’re under and doing the best you can in the circumstances. Discipline helps you navigate challenges with situations and people that may appear to be a cross-purposes with you. Acknowledging the depths of difficulty can also free-up your perspective. There will be inevitable moments today where you put your foot in your mouth – but equally you can be persuasive in arguing your case. It’s a good day for debate and investigation. Theme: Emotional clarity

With the Moon passing over Pluto today you will have emotional insights and clarity. Transformation can happen in differently shaping shaping our responses . The feeling of having little room to move,  combined with not feeling fully supported, is evident. Keeping your eye on the goal helps steer you towards the light. The answer lies within ourselves. Theme: Achievement or a Fight

In addition to Mars being challenged by Saturn, Mercury is uniting with Mars for the next week. Especially with those two planets in Scorpio, we have an even greater ability to think sharply and accomplish a lot. But we can also spoil for a fight or receive that energy from someone else. The Moon is our friend today. In the first half of the day we are generous and good hearted, and late in the day we are social and inclined to indulge. Theme: Careful and Slow

For the next week Mars is challenged by Saturn. This requires that we are careful and cautious if we want to succeed in our activities. We may feel discouraged, and have difficulty with authority figures. We need to work with any anger that arises, and wait for this week period to be over before we attempt something big. Theme: “Surprise, Surprise, Surprise” (Gomer Pyle)

It is best to expect surprises, and to be in touch with our own restless need for change. Accidents can happen if we repress this energy. Strong, passionate Scorpio force continues as Mercury joins the Sun and Mars in this sign, just as the Moon moves into Sagittarius for a few days. Sagittarius has a serious side, like Scorpio, but is more optimistic. Venus has moved into Capricorn, where it stays until the second week in March, due to a retrograde period starting December 19. Hold onto your hat or your hair arrangement. Today is a physical activity day with very short moments of rest. Use those moments to reach into your memory banks to see what you’re doing next. With Mars now in Scorpio you have more durability and staying power for the tasks that matter. And later in the day the Moon moves into Scorpio creating a powerful stellium with both Mars and the Sun giving you a boost to deal with difficulty and the suffering that comes with living in this world. But even when we taste suffering for ourselves, we may still prefer to hold on to our small world rather than facing the unknown. Theme: Commitment and dealing with unexpected events

This is a good time to deepen your connections with others. It’s also good to have friends in the face of sudden changes which are also likely over the next few days. With Venus in Sagittarius there is a lightness, warmth and optimism in relating with others which is a counterbalance to the cooling deep emotional waters and drive for intimacy of Sun and Mars in Scorpio. With the Moon in Libra for the next couple of days there is also an ability to step back from the fray and see what’s going in underneath all this activity. Ultimately, the reason why love and compassion bring the greatest happiness is simply that our nature cherishes them above all else. The need for love lies at the very foundation of human existence.
