An intermediary appears; a diplomatic person who can explain two sides and make peace. If you’re at loggerheads with another, pull in a third party. This person can say “he says…” and then “she says…” and you will understand each other! If others need a diplomat, be that person. Leave your own opinions at the door, or else a two-way disagreement will become a three way disagreement. Stay neutral and everyone will think you’re brilliant. A solid relationship with a partner is present. Be aware of the people who want to join your cause. They are stable people who will last. Trust older people and those who “know the ropes.” Don’t be afraid to ask for advice. Colin Powell said, “Leadership is solving problems. The day soldiers stop bringing you their problems is the day you have stopped leading them. They have either lost confidence that you can help or else concluded you do not care. Either case is a failure of leadership.” Learn from those who know.
