Theme: Electric Energy

Mercury, our thought and communication, is highly charged for a few days as it opposes Uranus, a higher octave of Mercury. Our minds will move very fast, which can lead to careless mistakes. Mercury is also tied in with Mars, Saturn and Venus today, which adds to the intensity. The Moon has entered Pisces for a few days, which boosts our potential for mystical experience, and compassionate action. Mars, the male principle, is in a harmonious relationship with Venus, the female principle, for 3 weeks. This supports the formation of new relationships and financial gain. Procrastination isn’t the problem. It’s the solution. It’s the universe’s way of saying stop, slow down, you move too fast. ~Ellen DeGeneres

Theme: The Eye of the Hurricane 

There continues to be a lot of difficult energy that can be very frustrating. Small crises come up in the first half of the day. Then our mood improves thanks to the Moon, our emotions, uniting with Jupiter, expansive and generous energy. But we must continue to be very patient and slow in order to achieve our goals. The eye of the hurricane is the spiritual connection between the Sun and Neptune. For the next few days this is both a time to work with a selfless, compassionate motivation, and to pray and meditate. Yes, the Dharma is difficult. Theme: Achievement or a Fight

In addition to Mars being challenged by Saturn, Mercury is uniting with Mars for the next week. Especially with those two planets in Scorpio, we have an even greater ability to think sharply and accomplish a lot. But we can also spoil for a fight or receive that energy from someone else. The Moon is our friend today. In the first half of the day we are generous and good hearted, and late in the day we are social and inclined to indulge. Theme: Careful and Slow

For the next week Mars is challenged by Saturn. This requires that we are careful and cautious if we want to succeed in our activities. We may feel discouraged, and have difficulty with authority figures. We need to work with any anger that arises, and wait for this week period to be over before we attempt something big. In the morning the Moon harmonizes with Saturn which makes for a productive time. I am a slow walker, but I never walk back. ~Abraham Lincoln

Theme: “Surprise, Surprise, Surprise” (Gomer Pyle)

It is best to expect surprises, and to be in touch with our own restless need for change. Accidents can happen if we repress this energy. Strong, passionate Scorpio force continues as Mercury joins the Sun and Mars in this sign, just as the Moon moves into Sagittarius for a few days. Sagittarius has a serious side, like Scorpio, but is more optimistic. Venus has moved into Capricorn, where it stays until the second week in March, due to a retrograde period starting December 19. Theme: A Lucky Afternoon

The part of fortune unites with the sun, our sense of purpose, this afternoon. This can bring some relief from Saturn’s restriction that continues for three more days. Today we turn towards organizing, cleaning and analysis. Yet the Moon in Virgo harmonizes with Uranus in Taurus. Expect the unexpected, and enjoy some change and excitement. We can make unusual events work in our favor. Continue to study and discuss the larger issues in life. To me, compassion is not a feeling at all. It is not an emotion. It is logical. Theme: Mars Unleashed

After 6 weeks in frustrating Libra (Mars doesn’t like to put others first), Mars has 6 weeks in one of it’s favorite signs, Scorpio. We can achieve more now because of a patient, unrelenting approach. This helps us bear the almost exact 90 degree challenge of Saturn to the Sun. We have to deal with a conflict between self-satisfaction and responsibility to others. Mercury, our thought and communication, is bolstered by Jupiter for a few days. This favors business dealings and a focus on religion, philosophy and foreign places. Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly. ~Robert F. Kennedy

Theme: From Surprises to Spirituality

Emotionally this not an easy day. In the first half of the day there is an unsettled energy that leads to surprises in our own and others actions. In the second half of the day there is a Yod with Neptune at the apex. This can confuse our thinking and challenge our emotions, but the potential for spiritual insight and growth is great. Neptune is retrograde for one more month, so the changes are internal and not likely to be expressed outwardly for now. Theme: Intense and Fixed

The energy setup from lunchtime to sundown (EDT) is prone to creating small crises, that play out as a conflict between our sense of purpose and our emotions. Saturn is also restricting us for a few days. Look to prayer, meditation and self care to help get through this period. There are fixed signs involved: Scorpio, Leo and Aquarius. Perseverance will pay off in a week or so. The pace 0f communication is back to full speed. The rest of the month is nice for socializing, and there are opportunities for financial gain. Theme: Lightening up

The Sun is passing through the heavy sign, Scorpio, but the Moon is in a strong position in light-hearted Gemini. In the first half of the day Moon harmonizes with Mercury, which gives a nice balance between our head and heart. In the second half of the day the Moon opposes Venus. This too is nice for our relationships, but watch out for over-indulgence.  Our desire for justice continues to conflict with our desire to overthrow the status quo. The tension will gradually lessen in the next few days. If an interesting monster can’t have an interesting hairdo I don’t know what this world is coming to. ~Bugs Bunny
