Don’t let anyone monopolize your time or pull you off assignment, and someone will definitely try to do this. Ask a broad question to get the ball rolling, and relax as the opinions fly back and forth. Richard Moss said, “The greatest gift you can give another is the purity of your attention.” If you’re not in a group situation, the need to listen and communicate will still be apparent everywhere, you’ll only avoid it by staying home with the door shut, where you will probably talk to yourself.
