Theme: Checks and Balances

With the challenge of Mars conjunct Pluto bringing raw emotions and habits to the surface it’s good to know that Venus is chasing every closer to Mars and softening the harshness and the fighting that occurs when you, or anyone else, don’t get what they want. Similarly, Jupiter is also in good aspect to Venus and Mars bringing a good bridle to unbridled aggression. The Sun in Aquarius brings a more global vision which is much needed at this time as Pluto begins the task of breaking down old outmoded structures.

Theme: Thinking outside the box

With the Moon conjunct Mercury in Aquarius you can think differently about conundrums and how to re-imagine activities of daily life. The desire for freedom that Aquarius energy draws also creates space for innovation and originality. The support and ideas of your broader community are more accessible to you. The acute aspect of Sun square Uranus is slowly abating also giving you respite from at least one area of pressure.

Many human beings say that they enjoy the winter, but what they really enjoy is feeling proof against it. For them there is no winter food problem. They have fires and warm clothes. The winter cannot hurt them and therefore increases their sense of cleverness and security. For birds and animals, as for poor men, winter is another matter. Theme: The power of love in times of war

With the Moon conjunct Venus today and Mars approaching ever closer to Pluto you are offered different ways to respond to events – with compassion and courage or with hatred and fear. All astrological aspects offer us different ways of responding to difficulties. The Moon-Venus conjunction reminds us that we share beneficial connections with many beings while the Mars-Pluto conjunction reminds us of the never-ending cycle of suffering, especially if we lose our humanity. With the Sun approaching an exact square the pressure is ratcheting up and it’s important to find peaceful outlets for this energy so that it doesn’t rebound. Finding ways to free this energy and let it flow benignly is possible if we pay attention.

Theme: Down to earth moments

With the Moon, Venus and Mars in Capricorn practical outcomes are in order including paying attention to structural outcomes (both the structures of the body and at work). Capricorn energy also brings a dry sense of humor to activities, in spite of the serious side to this sign. Theme: Mindfulness

There is a lot of underlying tension building with the Sun approaching an exact square to Uranus and Mars approaching an exact conjunction with Pluto. So it pays to be mindful of your physical activity and orientation. Play it safe. Go slower. Mercury is in exact conjunction to Pluto providing penetrating insights into your psychological habits that need to change. You can also see what old personal psychological wounds prevent you from moving forward at this time.

Theme: Depth perception

With the Moon in an interesting aspect to the planet of communication, Mercury, and the planet of transformation, Pluto, there are strong habitual tendencies that bubble to the surface today. Any negative result is more muted as a consequence of the moon being void of course for much of the day. Still, there’s always room for improvement in developing patience and insight. Theme: Finding the right balance

The Moon has moved into Libra bringing a focus on achieving balance in your daily life. Decisions take longer because of the considerations involved but the time taken also results in better decision making. The Moon in Libra also brings more social engagement which aligns more closely with the Sun in Aquarius, also an air sign. The air element which favors communication contrasts with the practical Capricorn earth energy that influences actions, thinking and relationships right now. You can lighten up.

Theme: Illumination

The Moon forms a T-square with the Sun and Jupiter bringing insights into challenges and re-framing difficulties. Jupiter, signals expansive energy, and even when you feel overwhelmed it can provide a steadying optimism. It doesn’t mean today will go smoothly but it does mean you see the big picture more easily, which gives you more perspective on situations. The Moon in Leo also adds more brio to the day and invites you to be both brave and bold.

I believe that freedom must be accompanied by a sense of responsibility.
