4/20/2019 Saturday by Wangmo & Jampal

Theme: Resistance to change

With the Sun entering the sign of Taurus (Happy Birthday Taureans!) closing in on the planet of disruption and change, Uranus, there is likely to be a lot of resistance to structural change. Effort is required to move past this resistance. The tight unity of Pluto, Saturn and the south node in the sign of Capricorn indicates that the results of unbridled materialism and ambition are now impacting our world. We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children.~Chief Seattle

4/19/2019 Friday by Jampal & Wangmo

Theme: Holding on, or Letting Go

Is this a peak time to grasp on to what you own and value? Or are you open to new insights and letting go? A Tibetan saying illustrates this point: “When you own one Yak, you have one Yak worth of problems. When you own two Yaks, you have two Yaks worth of problems.” With the full Moon today, energies are high, yet conflicts between professional life and personal life are common. With the Moon in the sign of Scorpio, emotions run deeply but not easily. Be gentle with your self and others, especially for the next few days. My religion is kindness.~His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.

Theme: Exercising diplomacy and learning flexibility

Today, with the Moon in Libra close to the asteroid Pallas-Athena, there is an opportunity for employing diplomacy in the way you emotionally relate to others. People are more forceful with how they communicate so develop skills in dealing with willfulness (without wisdom) in others. Anything that helps develop your flexibility prepares you for any sudden changes that will occur. Nobody can make you feel inferior without your permission.~Eleanor Roosevelt

Theme: Off to the races!

With the planet of thought and communication, Mercury, entering the fiery, action sign, Aries, a new cycle begins. For a few weeks, the pace of life increases, and imagination and inspiration are strong. “Look before you leap”, is something to remember now. Today, the Moon’s placement favors talking about emotional issues with others. Sudden changes and disruptions continue for a week. No matter how hard the past is, you can always begin again.~Buddha

Astrology for 4/16/2019

4/16/2019 Tuesday by Wangmo & Jampal

Theme: Unreliable intuition!

Today is not the day to trust intuition. Intuition might be strong but it is mixed in heavily with one’s own emotional complexes! This can lead to misunderstandings today. There is a friendly atmosphere today but beware of socially over-extending yourself and making your plans too big. Discipline is at a low point for the next few days. Mind-altering substances are particularly harmful at this time. ‘”But it’s no use now”, thought poor Alice “to pretend to be two people!! Why, there’s hardly enough of me left to make one respectable person!”‘~Alice in Wonderland

Astrology for 4/14/2019

4/14/2019 Sunday by Wangmo & Jampal

Theme: Dealing with resistance

The long-standing astrological theme of profound structural transformations, as a consequence of past actions, continues. For the next couple of days this manifests personally as a challenge to finding both a strong sense of purpose and new ways forward in the face of significant structural resistance to change. Actions matter a great deal right now. Deep spiritual insights into the nature of the universe are possible at this time. Nothing is separate from you. It’s hard to learn that and hold that in our minds in a strong way. ~Jetsunma Ahkon Norbu Lhamo

Today the Moon is Void of Course from 9.40 pm EDST USA until 6.15 am the next day. If you’re in another time-zone check what that means for you time-wise. It’s best to avoid making major decisions or signing contracts during this time.

Understanding Death And Rebirth

The following is an excerpt from a teaching by Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo called “Commitment to the Path”:

The Buddha wants us to understand that the only thing that has lasting value, that is actually truly and really good for us, that will lead us to the door of liberation, that will lead us into spiritual reality, are the Three Precious Jewels— the Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha. And in Vajrayana the Lama is the condensed essence of all those three.

We are taught that everything is impermanent and nothing can be trusted, because nothing goes with you when you die. There is only one thing that you can gather and accumulate that has any value and that is virtuous habitual tendencies, the dissolution of the poisons.  One’s karmic propensities and habitual tendencies are the only thing that leave with us when we die, continue with us in the bardo and return with us and form our next life.  It is this package of habitual tendencies and karmic material that actually experiences death and rebirth.  The Buddha teaches that it isn’t even the fact that you reincarnate.  The Buddha teaches us that we experience rebirth and death.  There is a difference.  What is experiencing that birth and death is this package of habitual tendencies and karmic propensities. And that is how the experience happens.  But you, in your nature, are the primordial wisdom Buddha.  You cannot die and be reborn.  But if you are dead to that reality, asleep to that reality, you only experience death and rebirth.

If we really take the Buddha’s teachings on impermanence and carry them to a deeper level, we begin to understand this.  The Buddha teaches us that due to delusion we experience rebirth, death and rebirth.  That which you are does not reincarnate.  It’s like saying that what we are experiencing are the waves on top of an ocean.  You can’t keep anything still there—it’s all wavy. But the truth of our nature, the meaning of the path, is the sanctity and solidity of the ocean floor that never changes.  That is why the Buddha teaches us about impermanence. Not to scare us, not to make us unhappy.  To tell somebody a thing is a certain way doesn’t make them any unhappier if it is that way.  It makes them able to cope, to deal, to decide.

There’s a great LOVE connection in the heavens. Your heart is more open at this time and can steer you through a confusing time with communication. With the Moon in Leo there is both a spirit of generosity and self-importance in the air! It is also a good time for creative and playful activity. Self-assertion is strong when it is embodied in actions and skillful words. It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves…~Shakespeare
