Wow!  Power Play!  Strength, energy and sudden action are here.  A force that has been waiting in the background suddenly comes forward!  Someone seemed so passive that you didn’t realize a plan was in place.  Someone was waiting and gathering strength. You are free to move forward with your plan, at last!  Four strong planets in the sign of action promise excitement and a great beginning! Go cat go!  At the same time, a powerful and pleasing diplomatic energy is present, and it’s possible to sell an attractive point of view.  People are ready to agree at last. Theodore Roosevelt’s dictum, “Speak softly and carry a big stick” is the name of the game today.  Both sides recognize each other’s strength, and both sides are willing to compromise.  Nobody wants trouble when they witness the other side’s power.  If this pertains to your personal life, for heaven’s sake, make peace!

Opposing sides face each other.  You must deal with an adversary in some way. Both sides must gain something, there’s no such thing as a winner and a loser in this instance.  One side is happy, enthusiastic, assertive, and the other side is more rigid and tied to the past and formality.  Balance is crucial, and during the course of the day you could be playing both parts at different times. St. John Ervine said, “Every man should periodically be compelled to listen to opinions which are infuriating to him.  To hear nothing but what is pleasing is to make a pillow of the mind.” A sad or difficult situation is winding down, for better or for worse, and something new is coming.  Therefore your best bet is to spend today tying up loose ends. Friends are loving; give yourself a treat and spend time with one.

Men and women are out of sync today, and you may even disagree with yourself!   Don’t be like Alice in Wonderland who scolded herself so harshly she almost cried!  You have one last chance to rectify a situation, so don’t give up.  If you receive criticism, consider things carefully.  Is it true, even partially?  What is the goal of the critic – to help or to harm you?  Friendly criticism can point out flaws you haven’t noticed.  Be humble.  But do remember that Franklin P. Jones said, “Honest criticism is hard to take, especially when it comes from a relative, a friend, an acquaintance, or a stranger.”  On another front, friends are wonderful, and life is brisk and energetic.  Get out there and enjoy things!

Very early in the day a helpful idea appears.  Perhaps you have a “brainstorm” during the night, where you think, “That’s the solution!”  It is.  Put your ideas to work right away, because as the day progresses another problem will arise that requires your fullest attention.  If you speak or act precipitously, you may need to go back and apologize.  You’ll know by the look on the face of the person you’re speaking to.  Diplomacy is extremely important in achieving your goal, or even in simply being heard.  If you ask and hear “no” to your proposal, rework your presentation and try again.  Be aware of other people’s situation as you attempt to achieve your goal. Other people have goals and lives?  What a surprise!  Margaret Mead said, “Always remember that you are absolutely unique.  Just like everyone else.”

Confusing instructions or a miscommunication can send you on a wild goose chase today.  Out chasing the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow?  Don’t be surprised if it isn’t there.  On the other hand, be grateful for a bit of a diversion.  Someone is attracted by your air of authority; allow that person to speak their piece, but have no expectations.  The focus is still on the suffering that appears.  Do your best to energetically help others, but don’t waste time with those who always need help, who never seem to solve their problems. Maya Angelou said, “I’ve learned that you shouldn’t go through life with a catcher’s mitt on both hands; you need to be able to throw something back.”  Those who have always looked for outside help are encouraged to help others.  Be a pitcher!

A sudden inspiration or idea is excellent!  Happiness is in the air today, and the mood is enthusiastic.  A new idea or plan electrifies and encourages people.  A “saved” quality is here. Someone may well come to the rescue, or else the means to rescue yourself appears.  Although pride is stimulated, do not stand on your pride.  Expansive thinking, an all-inclusive viewpoint, is best today. Rosa Luxemburg said, “Freedom is always and exclusively freedom for the one who thinks differently.” Listen to other points of view, and do not regard yours as the only solution.  The most surprising people may come forth with the best ideas.  Your job is to stay open to what comes and to accept the solution without judging the source.

A broad intelligence is an excellent influence today.  A judge, religious figure, or a person with a benevolent attitude can speak convincingly to people.  Listen carefully to the one who gives the big picture and encourages others to behave with noble principles. Spoken or written words have a powerful effect.  A judgment may come from a legal or international body that is definitive.  Old loves are in the picture.  People genuinely care for each other.  If an opportunity arises to buy or acquire an antique or relic of some sort, it is a good choice.  Something of ancient value can stabilize things.  Men and women are in sync in the very early morning, or in dreams, and this is a great comfort.  Emotional bonds are critical at this time of rapid forward motion.  You wish to escape, but that really isn’t an option right now.  Take a small escape, a bath, a TV show. J. Krishnamurti said, “The crisis is not out there in the world: it is in our own consciousness.”

You’ve just absorbed a surprise.  The situation hasn’t changed, but it doesn’t surprise you anymore.  You have accepted it.  Today, move quickly to do what must be done in order to adjust to the new status quo.  Definitely get your best work done before the early afternoon.  Later in the day you may need to deal with upset emotions or people.  You can’t get away, and it’s best to handle things carefully.  Be patient. Reassure others of your goodwill.  Rely on yourself and your best information.  Pope John Paul XXIII said, “It often happens that I wake at night and begin to think about a serious problem and decide I must tell the Pope about it.  Then I wake up completely and remember that I AM the Pope.”  You’re in charge today.  Do your best, and you will succeed.
