Dedication

The following is from a series of tweets by Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo:

May all sentient beings be fully satisfied in both relative and ultimate ways. May all who hunger and thirst for pure and deep Dharma be fully satisfied. May all who pray for more have twice as much. May all who crave what belongs to others have twice that, and all causes accompanied by all qualities and activities. May all who suffer in any way be mine to bear. OM TARE TUTTARE TURE SOHA! In the three times, to the three jewels, I dedicate all merit. To Palyul I dedicate. To haters, to the sick, to the poor, to the planet in peril, to animal rescue. Gratitude.

And of course, the Root of all accomplishment…Tsewei Lama Kyabje Third Drubwang His Holiness Pedma Norbu Rinpoche, Padmasambhava Himself as he found me again!

Honoring Claire

Wanted to take a moment to publicly offer thanks to one of my students, Claire.

She doesn’t talk about it much, but she never stops moving, working to bring benefit in whatever way she can.

She’s been a team leader for the Garuda Aviary for years now. Her passion for the birds, as well as her accessible style, have helped grow an active, involved team committed to keeping the Aviary afloat despite challenging economic times.

She not only keeps the team informed and inspired, but takes calls and reads emails from people all over the country who have problem birds. She conscientiously answers them all, building a network of relationships sharing a mission to end the parrot trade and care for these precious beings.

When our team in Sedona was fumbling on how to secure the Amitabha Stupa, Claire was willing to step into the hot seat and has gotten the team motivated and engaged, they’re working hard at raising the funds we need to keep the Stupa safe! Truly, if it weren’t for Claire that Stupa would have been lost by now.

She’s been willing to travel back and forth to Sedona on her own in order to keep the team going and coordinate their efforts with those here.

Not only does she manage these two teams, which, by the way, have had some great fundraising success lately, she also endures the thankless job of managing their finances.

Claire wasn’t always so responsible, but she’s really grown up on this path.

May she continue to grow and deepen as she learns to bring increasing benefit to beings.

Gratitude to His Holiness Ngawang Tenzin

The following is from a series of tweets by Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo:

Since the visit of Kyabje His Holiness Ngawang Tenzin I am feeling much better! How can I thank him? Gratitude!
His Holiness Ngawang Tenzin “knew” I wasn’t doing well, and came to practice until I did. Night and day. I feel His Holiness saved my life.

Kyabje His Holiness Ngawang Tenzin of Bhutan is a living Buddha, so kind and powerful, so pure! I was too sick to see him.

Kyabje His Holiness Ngawang Tenzin is also a root Guru for me. His Holiness never gave up until he knew I’d be fine. The day His Holiness left he rose early, still doing Puja for me.

I Pray I will someday travel to Butan to see His Holiness. I love and feel devotion for His Holiness Ngawang Tenzin. For all getting ready to jump down my throat, His Holiness Ngawang Tenzin is Kagupa, yet I am and will always be a Lineageholder in Palyul. Even I am allowed to have friends and feel devotion for a living Buddha Kyabje His Holiness Ngawang Tenzin of Bhutan. This is a miracle!

Thanksgiving Memories

From a series of tweets by Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo:

Tomorrow is a day for gratitude and Thanksgiving. And people eat. We used to stuff pumpkins with chestnut and fresh bread (homemade) spinach etc instead of turkey as young vegetarians. All grown or bought locally. I had a hand turned flower mill, ground cornmeal, wheat flour soy, etc from flour to grits. Even pastry flour!

I once LOVED cooking. But making the kitchen functional, shopping, saving vegetable stock for healthy soup, the profound connected part was my favorite. I always looked for ways to put a little wheat germ or soy flour a la Adelle Davis in everything. Picked wild greens, gardened, we ate healthy for nothing!

Mmmmm – we made wild huckleberry pie and cobbler. I made my own jams and jellies. In particular, our own Cherries with one or two pits put back. They give a complimentary almond flavor.

We had a dairy cow, made yogurt, butter, cheese, soft and wheels of hard. Like parmesan I learned so much! We cut felled wood for heat.

Those were such beautiful days. I could go on…. Those were the happiest days.

Goodnight, that was your bedtime story, Beloveds! Sweet dreams!
