KPC has wonderful news! In a meeting with the Interfaith Advocate from Montgomery County, we were informed that we can open our doors, that visitors can come and go, taking advantage of the many blessings the temple has come to offer. The Prayer Room will be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week once again for ANYONE seeking a place of spiritual refuge. You will be welcome to meditate quietly or pray, and take in the wealth of blessings offered by the statues, thangkas and crystals.

Not all functions of the temple will be able to continue until we are able to navigate the permitting process of Use and Occupancy and make the necessary renovations to ensure public safety and accessibility, but for those who have come to count on KPC as a place of peace, refuge and blessings the doors will once again be open to all regardless of faith.
We cannot hold events inside the temple, but will continue to offer events outdoors in order to continue with KPC’s mission of offering the Dharma. In just a few weeks KPC will host Khenpo Norgay who will be offering teachings and empowerments associated with Phowa, a powerful Buddhist practice to prepare for the time of death. Though this event will be held outdoors, KPC will do it’s best to ensure you are comfortable while enjoying this precious opportunity.

Please continue to support us in our effort to come into compliance with the county. The renovations required to ensure the safety of all will require everyone’s ongoing support, as they will be very expensive. Please donate. Meanwhile, all are invited to come and partake of the many blessings of KPC.

Tulku Dawa Gyalpo Has Arrived!

The following is from a series of tweets by Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo:

Venerable Tulku Dawa Rinpoche arrived this evening to many welcoming hearts at KPC this evening. It is lovely to have him! He teaches tomorrow night.

He is a devout disciple of His Holiness Penor Rinpoche. I feel comfortable with his energy, he is Palyul. His knowledge is a mine of jewels as he has studied well and worked hard.

Please join us this weekend if you are in the D.C. area, or tune in to the webcast!

Returning

The following is from a series of tweets by Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo:

Tomorrow will be a happy day, I will teach. And I’m looking forward to it. It’s been a while, and I feel stronger again. I hope to meet Some of the people I connect with online every day.

Must warn you, my hair is graying and I’m getting old. But face it. It happens to all. It isnt the package that matters at this age, it’s the message. Mine is kindness and love, Bodhicitta, Palyul.

In getting stronger I can Teach often. I am grateful for that. I am happy to say we are being remodeled, Temple and Stupas are looking great. I am proud of the work my Sangha is doing. Today we had about 50 volunteers and tons of visitors, including college classes. Busses. Wow. The feeling is full steam ahead, joyfully. A joyful heart is part of the way. And we are feeling it. I miss my students and can’t wait to touch hearts.

One Disappointment is I cannot climb into my throne as my lower back and hip still hurt constantly. Oh well. We’ll put a chair in front of the throne. But I have my Zen and Chuba and I’m ready to rock! Will you be there? Hugs from Palyul, Buddhism and KPC!

Sacred Home Coming

The following is from a series of tweets by Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo:

Since I’ve come back to KPC I see the dramatic changes and hope they continue. The Stupas look terrific! And the feel of the place- Wow!  It feels like one is constantly in meditation and prayer. And that is the point, isn’t it? To awaken!

I’m glad I came home. Yes, my stalkers know where I am. It would be dishonest to say that doesn’t scare me; but I’m doing better with PTSD. I can see what is dangerous and what is not.

The blessing of being in my appointed place is healing. I’m stronger here. Also I’ve found that my life is less important than the temple, monastics, Stupas, pechas, images, relics. These are treasures that will last longer than I will, so – I’m home. Come what may.

Coming Home

The following is from a series of tweets by Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo:

I am now at KPC Maryland, thought I’d stop by before the stalkers knew about it. But the minute I got here I knew I would stay.

The sangha that prepared for me made everything so lovely, so elegant, I felt welcomed home. So I will stay.

I went to make an offering and prayers. It was so lovely and peaceful I felt healed and safe. The power of the Stupas is such – no one can harm me here.

Stupas are Living Buddhas and have a blessing range of about 100 miles, radius. And more. So, the peace and beauty, the prayer flags, offerings are not just superficial. They are true power and compassionand wisdom. This is my seat of power and I’m back to what matters. Benefiting sentient beings. I won’t leave, I will build KPC stronger, and will teach, only leaving to travel or teach.

If I hear the stalker is going off again I will go to the Stupa and pray just as I did today. And feel healed some more. I have faith. I see again what I’ve accomplished.

And it is sacred and gorgeous, therefore my work for Palyul is truly an act of love and grace.

And I did it with the Guru’s blessing. I’m in love with my sangha, my monastics, and temple again. Mama Lama is back! And no one will scare me off again.

Invitation

The following is an invitation offered to participants of the Palyul Ling Retreat in upstate New York:

After the wonderful experience of being in New York at Kyabje Penor Rinpoche’s center with our precious Palyul family, many people wish the summer would last. If you are one of these, Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo and the sangha of Kunzang Palyul Choling joyfully invite you to come visit our center and continue your practice experience.

We would like to share our lovely temple enriched with the blessings of His Holiness Penor Rinpoche’s first Rinchen Terzod outside of Tibet, and all the supports for Dharma practice. We have teaching and meditation rooms – open 24 hours a day for prayers, and a continuous prayer vigil around-the-clock.

If you like the outdoors, you can walk freely in our 72-acre peace park and enjoy the 15 Stupas that grace the property there. One of them contains precious relics of Terton Migyur Dorje, a gift from His Holiness Penor Rinpoche, who consecrated the Stupa. Many people have experienced tremendous healing from circumambulating the Migyur Dorje Stupa with faith. For those of you with the transmission, we also have a private Tsa-Lung hut on the property and weekly practices there.

You will be welcomed by our large ordained Sangha – many of whom you know – and who uphold the practice calendar with daily tsog, and frequent group practices. All of this we’d like to share with you so that you may deepen your practice and fulfill your deepest wishes for enlightenment in this lifetime.

We hope you will visit soon!
