Interesting Times: Keeping Dharma Pure

The following is from a series of tweets by Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo:

Interesting times still, my friends. But all is well, and I am getting stronger and healthy. The slow de-stress of being safe is true medicine. I never truly understood what a killer stress is – causes high blood pressure, spastic muscles, depression, IBS, palpitations, panic attacks, etc. I am moving through most of it. Takes time though. And practice. But I am pleased and hopeful for more recovery. I miss family and students.

Here I am feeding wild birds, they need the help. Here I see when I don’t talk much and have some freedom I can see new beginnings. 2012-13- what will they be? I see dimensional “thinning” which is hard to describe. I am in a truly sacred place now, and I hear Dakinis singing when I do. See doors where there are none. I am seeing a lot of quantum change, all natural. I see activity so subtle it blows my mind.

Are the truly great Lamas returning? Will they reflect the mirror – like truth of our nature? Or reflect these sorry times?

Nothing new is happening here, this disrespect for pure undefiled Dharma was all predicted as was misunderstanding the Lama’s words or disregarding them entirely, making it up as they go along. This time, when Dharma moved west was expected.

My commitment is to keep Vajrayana safe and secure by following the instruction of my perfect Teacher. I will keep the transmission of Lineage and Terma from Palyul undefiled. This is what I am expected to do. And when it is safe and I am healed, I will come roaring back triumphant and ready to rock!

Palyul needs me, sentient beings need me and women need me. I want to fulfill them all. I keep hearing encouragement from my own, and the cries of the lost and worldly, the poor and hungry. How can I fail? How can I give in, leaving beings in suffering? I can’t.

If anyone prefers another Lama or stage of Buddhism I’m all for it. If it is real. But change Vajrayana or defile Palyul and you will see the wrathful fangs of the Dakini for sure. Be warned.

And yes, this IS love. It is Bodhicitta in wrathful form. But pure, wholesome – and vital. Be sure; I love you, Palyul and all the great noble, stainless family we share.

With Compassion, All is Possible

The following is from a series of tweets by Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo:

Hello to all from my safe and secret place. It is lovely here and I an doing very well. So many of my friends and students are praying for my well being so kindly, and I am so very grateful for this. I don’t know what I’d do without you and my family. I know who my friends are.

If there is any sense to come from this crazy situation it is this. I’m loved. Never quite knew that, or even could. Thank you, I am humbled and transformed by you. And I pray for the chance to pay it forward again and again. Every life, every time. I love you.

And finally, I can accept  your love as well. If there is some situation in your life where you have no choice other than to accept love, take it and pay it forward.

Without that there is no world worth being in. And with compassion, all is possible.

Bring the Love

Thousand Arm Avalokiteshvara Mandala

From The Spiritual Path:  A Compilation of Teachings by Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo

All Dharma, your practice, your teachers, and everything you have ever encountered that has brought you closer to enlightenment—is only one thing: a manifestation or an emanation of the enlightened, compassionate intention of the Buddha. That is why this path appears and why we are able to practice Dharma. If you wish to follow this path, abandon your drunken, compulsive need to be right, approved of, admired. You must rely on the Buddha’s great intention. And after you finally arise in the awareness of your own primordial-wisdom nature, you will of necessity appear again and again to benefit beings. For it is the nature of that state to do so. That pristine state appears in an emanation phase—a spontaneous, natural movement that we may call love.

Who stops the love? You do. Every moment you believe that you are inherently real, you stop loving. Every moment you focus on your “self” and its needs, you stop loving. As your churning desire compulsively creates a deluge of thoughts, you stop loving. As long as you hold on to a “self” and the idea of its eternal existence, you will never be anything but a cheap imitation of the supremely awakened mind. I asked a wonderful yogini in Nepal, “What would you say to women in America who are practicing?” She said, “Well, this applies to everyone, but especially to women. Have courage.” Your practice is meaningless—it amounts to nothing—unless you have courage. You must be strong. You must not let anything stop you. With that fearlessness, you can break through the lethargy in your life; you can break through the barriers that keep you from practicing sincerely; you can even break through the old ideas that keep you mired in garbage. You can understand that by believing in a surviving, eternal ego, you are following a fool off a cliff.

Celebrating Love

I wish all beings a safe, peaceful holiday, filled with joy and warmth. May every Blessing rain upon you as silver drops of love! May you all walk in beauty and awareness; may you always be mindful of our natural gifts. Stars, Sun, Moon – and share with all! We are keeping our spirits up, though a Christmas in hiding from my stalker that was released a few days ago.

I don’t want to give up on this rebirth, I can still be strong. Fundamentally, I am strong. Just beaten up, and some PTSD. Nothing a secret island wouldn’t cure. My wish is to regain confidence, to feel secure enough to continue in my work. And I want to come home.

All the kindness and support are everything to me now!I will not be put off serving sentient beings with Dharma, food, shelter, love. Nothing has that power. Nothing is stronger than love! Don’t ever believe otherwise. Hate seems strong. But it is a bully. Hate is weak, that’s why it is so loud. Only ugly is behind it. No substance. To all of Palyul – thank you! Tsewei Lama you remain on the Lotus seat of my heart. May Palyul thrive, and may I always be reborn to this sacred noble family!

Here is a teaching you did not ask for

242307604_BfVDE-S

A teaching by Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo

Try to believe in the Love….that the Love that exists is

Absolute.  It never varies, it is unchanging.  You did nothing

to deserve it and you cannot destroy it.  It is your belief in the

Love, your acceptance of it, this changes from moment to

moment, circumstance to circumstance, tossed about on the

waves of your emotions.

Let your heart fall deeper under the surface to where the

waves seem very far away.  There you will find it, and me.

Make a samaya now to go deeper every day, to diligently

travel to that calm place where the sands do not shift at all.

You never asked for this!  Only for what is temporary,

turbulent, based on a self that you have only imagined.  Learn

to ask for what is true.  That you will be answered is certain

because the answer is already accomplished.

Beneath the waves it is already there.

I am with you again, still, always.

I do love you.

Jetsunma describes how to use the natural love and responsibility we feel towards those we love as a window to recognizing the suffering of all beings, and taking responsibility for relieving the suffering of all beings without partiality.

Love is the Medicine: Quotes from Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo

The following is from a series of tweets by Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo:

No true Dharma Master behaves with rage, hate, ranting, self- importance. These are signs of mental instability, a character flaw. Never follow such a one as that.

One should rest with a peaceful and loving mind. Even wrathful emanating Buddhas manifest solely out of the wish to liberate beings.

Respect kindly all religions that teach loving kindness, and have no respect for envy and jealousy. Never follow hate.

No being incapable of controlling their own mind or developing ethics and a loving character can ever be a Master. First we must have accomplishment.

If we develop a good heart we will progress to true compassion, and awaken Bodhicitta. This is the way of the Buddha’s method.

The way of loving kindness is what is to be accepted. Love! The benefit is clear. Rage, hate are the way of chaos and darkness – to be rejected.

In short: if one has nothing of value to say, only that which is impure defilement, avoid them. They are masters of the dark. Of no use.

Always walk in peace and beauty; in grace and love, speak only truth and you will be blessed. Where we are, let there be light.

Hate is the last refuge of the ignorant. Love is the medicine. Compassion is the gift of the awakened ones.

Harry’s Romp: The Power of Love

On July 17th Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo learned of a pekingese named “Gary” who had been dumped at a shelter. His hair was matted, his nails overgrown, his muscles atrophied from being kenneled without adequate exercise. He had scars from cigarette burns, and it was later discovered his jaw had been broken and never healed properly. Jetsunma immediately committed to adopting him.

With the help of Ani Kunzang from Tara’s Babies and Ani Pema arrangements were made for Harry to receive necessary veterinary care before joining Jetsunma’s “pack.” On July 31st, having recovered from a contagious respiratory infection, Harry arrived at Jetsunma’s home so weak he had difficulty walking.

Today, nourished by all the love and support…

May all beings be free of suffering!
